Speech Pathologist
I’m a speech-language pathologist and I received my bachelors degree in speech, language, and hearing sciences in 1989 followed by a master of science degree in speech-language pathology from Moorhead State Minnesota, with my internship completed at the Anne Carlson School for the Multiple Handicapped in 1991. I have been practicing with my Certificate of Clinical Competence as a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association since 1991. I have practiced in a variety of settings throughout my 30-year career, working with developmental delays, head injuries, and the Deaf population using sign language training to facilitate job coaching. I’ve worked with pediatrics in a private practice, in public schools and two hospitals. I have also worked extensively on rehab teams serving older patients with various disease processes and strokes that impact the speech/swallow/voice and hearing mechanisms, and I’m skilled with augmentative/alternative communication systems (AAC). I have a passion for working with individuals with Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases and I’m a certified SpeakOUT! provider. I’ve also received specialized training in the treatment of auditory processing disorders and enjoy that as well.
I love faith, family and fun - water skiing, snow skiing, kayaking, using my E-bike, plus just lounging in the sun! I grew up with the motto, “Work hard, play hard” and that motto guides all aspects of my life.
